“Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.”
Just as we have accepted Christ as our savior, we must accept Him as our true self! Soon as we said yes to Jesus, there was a change. Our struggling self was crucified, and we were raised in Christ. In Christ…all God’s promises are Yes and Amen (2 Cor 1:20), we are seated at the right hand of God in eternal rest (Eph 2:6), and we are blessed with every spiritual blessing from above (Eph 1:3). It is no longer our nature to be sinful, it is our nature to be holy. In this verse, Paul is telling us to live day by day conscious of what Jesus has done for us on the cross, knowing who we are in Christ. As He is so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). We are in eternal right standing with God, in Christ (2 Cor 5:21). There is no condemnation for us, in Christ (Rom 8:1). In Christ, the law of the Spirit of Life has set us free from the law of sin and death (Rom 8:2)!
