Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.
3 John 1:2
I have had this verse on my mind for a few months now…Notice that health and prosperity come after your soul prospers?
So how does our souls prosper?…Joseph Prince puts it best…Right thinking produces right believing. Right believing produces right living. Right living produces right results. Christianity is not about behavior modification but heart transformation.
We process thoughts in our minds, and once we trust those thoughts they become beliefs in our hearts. Our thoughts can be carnally influenced by our circumstances and the world around us or spiritually influenced by the Holy Spirit’s witness in and to us. The product of our day to day lives is a direct reflection of who we believe we are in our hearts. If I believe I am an alcoholic, I will continue to drink. Its who I am and what I do. This is the revelation behind Proverbs 4:23.
Your heart is part spirit and part soul. God has finished his part (spirit), our part is to renew our mind (soul)…Labor to enter the rest of Jesus’s finished works. Be Christ occupied instead of self-occupied. Put off the old man and put on the new. Bring your thoughts captive to Christ’s obedience.
A perfect example of this is a child and their super hero. Their thoughts are consumed with that hero, so they start to act like that hero. They start to dress like that hero. They even believe they are unstoppable as they imagine themselves as that hero. Jesus is our one and only true hero. He will not fail you. He has no rival. He has no equal. Everything you need is in Jesus. He is enough. Now know that you are In Him. You were baptized into His death to be resurrected into His Life. And Christ in you is the hope of glory!
Remind yourself of these truths every day…
“All God’s wrath towards my sins (past, present, and future) was exhausted in the body of Jesus. Now nothing can separate me from my Father. The Holy Spirit has baptized me into Christ. Jesus fulfilled the impossible demand of the law on my behalf. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. Therefore, there is no condemnation in Christ. I am hidden with Christ in God. As Jesus is so am I in this world. I am in the world but not of it. I am highly favored, greatly blessed, and deeply loved. There is no striving because I am complete in Him. My soul can be at rest because of His finished work. My only work is faith in Jesus.”
Those that receive the abundance of grace and gift of righteousness will reign in life. As you begin to behold Jesus as your true self, the Holy Spirit will transform you into His image from glory to glory (completely healthy and whole, prospering in everything you do). If I believe, in my heart, I am righteous, holy, and blameless (in nature – through Christ), my actions will soon follow. If I believe I am blessed with every spiritual blessing from God (in Christ), I will prosper in all things including my health.
